On Saturday night, October 14, Lee Adi, Sara Held, Olivia Levine (NextGen Member), Taylor Shabani, Olivia Tulkoff, and Lizzie Youshaei hosted a fundraiser with the help of the World Jewish Congress to support Israel. At the Naked Tomato, an Israeli restaurant in New York City, over 150 people were in attendance, and raised an incredible amount of over 70k USD was raised.
Guest speakers, including Yitzhak Rabin's granddaughter and former IDF soldier, Reut, and two former IDF soldiers, Snir Dayan and Evyatar Shamsiev, gave powerful speeches on the history of Israel and their experience in the Israeli Defense Force. The hosts recited Jewish prayers for Israel and Kaddish for fallen soldiers with a deep yearning for Israel's safety. The speeches ended with the song "Lilah Tov, Shaun" and all the attendees singing Israel's national anthem, "Hatikvah." The guests also wrote letters to the children in the South.
